Impact

We create systems that cannot exclude.

Our commercial work funds public infrastructure for equity and leadership. This page sets out how the model works, who it benefits and how we measure it.

How the social enterprise model works

Just Gold works alongside the Aurum Foundation, a separate registered charity. Just Gold delivers commercial consulting, creative and training work. The surplus from that work creates paid employment and powers public platforms delivered with the Foundation, such as Think, and initiatives Just Gold leads directly, such as Autistic Pride Day.

Our operating model embeds the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into every service, platform and public intervention we deliver. We build the missing pieces so that future systems do not exclude the people they serve.

Our systems of impact

Inclusive employment and enterprise transformation. Paid employment across consulting, creative, advisory, production and training, with structured internships, placements and leadership pathways on real projects. Primary beneficiaries: neurodivergent professionals, disabled people, young people, migrants, women returning to the workforce and LGBTIQA+ professionals.

Autistic leadership and systems reform, led by Just Gold and the Aurum Foundation together. The Autistic Pride Day Global Initiative, Think Autism activations, national symposiums, sector dialogues, public policy engagement, and inclusive sector toolkits and leadership pathways. Primary beneficiaries: Autistic people, neurodivergent professionals, policymakers and service sectors.

Public platforms and knowledge infrastructure, through the Aurum Foundation. Think, the cross sector storytelling and leadership platform; Aurum Learn, a digital learning platform coming in 2027; and frameworks for civic engagement and sector capacity building. Primary beneficiaries: community leaders, public institutions and advocacy movements.

Strategic sector amplification. Low bono and pro bono strategic delivery, movement partnerships, and support for civic leadership and public sector reform. Primary beneficiaries: purpose led movements, advocacy organisations and sector leaders.

Theory of change

Our theory of change sets out the inputs, activities, outputs, outcomes and impact for both sides of the model: enterprise delivery by Just Gold and public infrastructure delivery by the Aurum Foundation.

How we measure impact

We measure impact by systems change and by who gets to lead, rather than by volume.

  • Enterprise frameworks. Employment created, access to leadership and procurement compliance outcomes.
  • Public impact frameworks. Platform participation, evidence of influence on systems and policy engagement.
  • Lived experience validation. Evaluation cycles co led with the communities affected.
  • Sector feedback loops. Stakeholder adoption rates and shifts in sector practice.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

Five focus areas connect our work to the SDGs.

  • Equity and inclusion (SDGs 5, 8 and 10). Paid leadership pathways, Autistic leadership platforms, and leadership development for LGBTIQA+ people, women, young people and migrants.
  • Environmental responsibility (SDGs 3, 11, 12 and 13). Sustainable operations and low carbon delivery.
  • Social innovation (SDG 9). Building platforms and scalable education systems.
  • Knowledge mobilisation (SDGs 10 and 17). Public education platforms and sector storytelling.
  • Community leadership (SDGs 8, 10 and 17). Civic leadership platforms and movements built across sectors.

Social Traders certification and social procurement

Just Gold has been certified by Social Traders since 2019, and was the first management consultancy and creative agency in Australia to be certified as a social enterprise. Certification means we meet social procurement standards, so government and corporate buyers add social value through work they already need done. Social Traders advocates to business and government to make buying from social enterprises the norm.

We deliver in line with the Modern Slavery Act and state based Social Procurement Frameworks.
