Illuminating 'The Invisible Woman': A Step Forward
Just Gold, in a groundbreaking social partnership with the City of Melbourne, is proud to celebrate the conclusion of our two year initiative, “The Invisible Woman”.while also announcing its expansion. This milestone represents a significant leap forward in our commitment to champion age and gender equity within the business sector and the broader community.
Over the past two years, “The Invisible Woman” has become more than just a program; it has come to symbolise a vision of fairness, respect, and equality.
We have worked diligently with our partners, addressing age and gender equity issues and placing these important topics in the public eye. Live QandAs, podcasts, web stories, free digital literacy workshops, consultation, research, internships and free resources for all amongst the many deliverables.
As we conclude this project, we are thrilled to announce the launch of a comprehensive, free eLearning resource, available from June 15. Designed for small businesses, this tool aims to foster more equitable and inclusive workplaces, providing essential insights into promoting gender and age equity.
However, this is just the beginning. As we look towards the future, we are excited to announce that we will be expanding “The Invisible Woman” initiative to encompass all women and gender diverse people, not only women over 50. We recognise that these conversations need to start earlier and reach wider, to truly ignite change.
In leading this expanded vision, we are proud to announce Maria Dimopoulos AM as the new chair of our initiative reference group. Her experience, knowledge, and passion for social justice will undoubtedly steer this program towards new heights of impact and empowerment.
Our journey has been one of action, understanding, and most importantly, change. Our efforts are focused on ensuring every woman and gender diverse person feels seen, heard, and valued, and our communities are free from ageism and gender bias.
As we close this chapter with the City of Melbourne, we are humbled by the tangible change our partnership has inspired. Yet, we acknowledge that the path to age and gender equity is long, and there is still much work to do.
Join us as we stride towards a future where equity is the norm, not the exception. We invite you to explore our new eLearning resource on www.justgoldwomen.net from June 15, and be a part of the change we envision.
Together, we can turn ‘the invisible woman’ into a visible force for change. After all, #WeAreJustGold.
