The 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots marks five decades of progress, but for all the achievements, there are still many more battles to be fought before we become a truly tolerant and inclusive society.
At Just Gold we are not ones to shy away from fighting these battles. Our $40,000 worth #JustGoldPrideProgram is a multiplatform, multi approach initiative to engage in dialogue, to start conversations, to promote diversity and inclusion, to take action.
This year, we are committing to deliver services, programs, grants and campaigns to social enterprises and not for profits associated with the LBTIQ+ community across Australia.
More than a package of LGBTIQA+ focused services, the #JustGoldPrideProgram is an open call for all of us to look in the mirror and see that we’re all part of the same humanity. It is an open call for all of us to stand proud of who we are and take a step forward, free of fear, shame or judgement.
For the 2019 Pride Month, we are proud to send a message of connection and acceptance, of love and safety; a message that hits home.
The disruptive rainbow
Participating in the 2019 World Pride celebrations, we are adding the disruptive rainbow to our brand.
For the entire month, our visual identity will feature the colours of the LGBTIQA+ rainbow flag, cutting through the trademark Just Gold yellow visuals. We use the LGBTIQA+ rainbow as a symbol of disruption, offering a different perspective, a new point of view. It is a marker of social innovation, in line with our core values and objectives, and a way for us to send our message to the LGBTIQA+ community: feel safe; feel at home; we got your back.
What is the Just Gold Pride Program 2019/20
As we enter the 2019 International #pride month, Just Gold will be announcing a detailed set of programs, services and grants, focusing on the LGBTIQA+ community, to the value of more than $40,000. It is our way of saying to the community: we got your back. Our #JustGoldPrideProgram is comprised of three objectives:

To create a platform for social enterprises and not for profits associated with the LGBTIQA+ community to communicate their work and share their message. For that purpose, we are producing an LGBTIQA+ podcast, launched in September focusing on issues of sexuality and cultural identity in Australia.

To provide training to social enterprises and not for profits associated with the LGBTIQA+ community, in order to help them achieve goals, find purpose and create business opportunities. As part of this initiative we are delivering our signature Find Your Hashtag professional development workshop, specifically tailored for LGBTIQA+ social enterprises and not for profits, as part of our grants program in Victoria and New South Wales.

To create a shared value ecosystem for LGBTIQA+ organisations throughout Australia. Through our national grants project, we are delivering vouchers for pro bono strategy, communication and social impact services and campaigns to LGBTIQA+ social enterprises and not for profits. We will be accepting expressions of interest from companies keen to participate on our extended program soon. Watch this space for more.

Pride
Every year June is celebrated as #Pride month around the world, an opportunity for the International LGBTIQA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender diverse, intersex and queer) community to celebrate the achievements of the movement born out of the Stonewall Riots in Greenwich Village.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the riots that erupted in New York, protesting police brutality and systemic discrimination against members of the LGBTIQA+ community. Worldwide Pride events are planned around the world to promote gender diversity, tolerance, acceptance, and inclusion. It is an opportunity to commemorate the struggles, sacrifice and resilience of every generation of LGBTIQA+ activists who fought discrimination and paved the way for social change, including the legislation for marriage equality, which is now in power in 26 countries around the world. Pride month is an opportunity to celebrate all that; an opportunity to reaffirm a stance against discrimination and violence; an opportunity to raise awareness for LGBTIQA+ issues; to spread a message of self worth, dignity and safety; an opportunity to celebrate achievements, to see how far we have gone as inclusive communities, but also how much further we can go.#wearejustgold #JustGoldPrideProgram
