Just announced: Just Gold joins the Victorian Government LGBTIQA+ Multicultural and Faith Project
The Victorian Government is working in partnership with Social Change Projects, the Australian GLBTIQ Multicultural Council, Greek and Gay, Australian Asian Rainbow Alliance and Just Gold to help understand the experiences of LGBTIQA+ people from diverse cultural and faith backgrounds.
At Just Gold we are proud to be part of the process. Our research team is currently conducting interviews with non LGBTIQA+ parents of Greek cultural background living in Victoria.
Exploring the cultural values: finding the communication strategies
How can we communicate acceptance and support for LGBTIQA+ people from diverse cultural & faith backgrounds?
The LGBTIQA+ Multicultural and Faith Project is guided and led by people with a lived experience; the groups have been working together for some time now to develop strategies around safety and inclusion for community members. After listening to Victorians from diverse cultural and faith backgrounds earlier in the year, the project team has now developed some ideas about communications approaches to improve acceptance and support for LGBTIQA+ community members.
These approaches will be tested in a number of focus groups and one on one interviews in the next two weeks.
