ResultMelbourne became the first Australian city to host the global portal, connecting locals to Gaza, Lesbos and New York.

The gold Shared Studios portal container at Federation Square, carrying a Twitter What's happening? sign, opposite Flinders Street Station.

Overview

Twitter and Shared Studios engaged Just Gold to deliver the Melbourne leg of #Tweetups, an immersive international activation that connected cities through an audiovisual portal.

Challenge

Just Gold had two weeks to stage an international civic experience. That meant sourcing a venue, engaging stakeholders and coordinating with partners overseas, all under high public visibility.

Approach

Using The Ethos Method, Just Gold:

  • Secured Federation Square as the venue
  • Mapped and engaged local civic leaders, creatives and advocates
  • Coordinated logistics, media coverage and public access across time zones

Deliverables

  • Event planning, logistics and delivery
  • Stakeholder and government engagement
  • PR, drone filming and media support
  • Live management and technical troubleshooting

Outcome

Melbourne became the first Australian city to host the global portal, connecting locals to Gaza, Lesbos and New York. The project showed that Just Gold can deliver cross cultural civic activations to a tight deadline.
