SydWest Multicultural Services

From a 2026 board workshop to a standing partner: governance, the 2027 to 2030 strategy, a national summit and a funded community program.

The relationship

SydWest has served Western Sydney since 1985 and, after three mergers, runs aged care, disability, multicultural services and housing. Just Gold’s work with SydWest began in early 2026 with a brief to facilitate a board workshop. Within the year it has grown into a working partnership across four fronts: board governance, the 2027 to 2030 strategy, a national summit co convened with SSI and the Settlement Council of Australia with SBS as media partner, and a community program with the City of Parramatta funded by the NSW Premier’s Department.

Nothing here was sold as a program. Every engagement was scoped and contracted on its own, and each one led to the next. A workshop brief became a strategy mandate, then a national summit, then a funded community program.

Strategy firms usually leave when the report lands, and agencies deliver what they are handed. Just Gold has done both for SydWest. The strategy is stronger for it, because the people who wrote it are the people delivering it.

SydWest now holds a national Social Cohesion Roadmap with its name on it, a state funded program with its council, and a strategy its board can decide on.
